The biggest innings in cricket history, 16 year old Pranav Dhanawade scored 1009 runs
Cricket is often called the “game of uncertainties”, and this definition seems even more accurate when we talk about a historic match played in the Bhandari Cup in Mumbai in 2016.
In this match, 16-year-old batsman Pranav Dhanawade of KC Gandhi English School did such a feat that it is difficult to believe. Arya Gurukul’s team was all out for just 31 runs while batting first, but after this Pranav brought storm on the field.
He scored 652 runs on the first day and took his innings to 1009 runs on the second day. He made this score in just 327 balls, which included 129 fours and 59 sixes. His team declared the innings after scoring a total of 1465 runs and won the match by a huge margin of 1382 runs.
This record was made in minor cricket, but its echo was heard in the entire cricket world. This innings of Pranav was not only a personal achievement but also became a symbol of the possibilities of cricket and the flight of young talent.
