Google Pixel 10 series will now have WhatsApp calling even without network
Google has recently launched its much-awaited Pixel 10 series in global markets including India. This new series includes a feature that can bring a big change in smartphone technology. The company has claimed that Pixel 10 will be the world’s first smartphone in which users will be able to make audio and video calls through WhatsApp even without mobile network or Wi-Fi.
WhatsApp calling with satellite connectivity
Google said in its official X (former Twitter) post that WhatsApp calling will be provided in the Pixel 10 series through satellite connectivity. This feature will be available from August 28, when the sale of Pixel 10 series starts. The company has also shared a demo video in which it can be seen that WhatsApp call is connecting with the satellite icon.
This feature will be especially useful in situations when users are completely cut off from the network – like in the forest, mountains or emergency situation. The Pixel 10 series will no longer be limited to security, but it will also meet everyday communication needs.
Will have to wait in India
However, this feature will currently work only in those countries where satellite service is available. Satellite network has not started in India yet, but BSNL has indicated in this direction that it may start satellite services soon. In such a situation, Indian users may have to wait a bit to take advantage of this facility.
What else is special in Pixel 10 series?
This feature will be available in models like Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Apart from this, Google has also provided satellite SOS connectivity in Pixel Watch 4 LTE, which can connect directly to the satellite for help in an emergency.
A big step towards the future
This move of Google is taking smartphone technology in a new direction. While Apple and Samsung have so far limited the satellite feature to just SOS or messaging, Google has tried to turn it into a mainstream communications feature.
